[You wake up in a courtroom. You’re not really sure how you got here, just that you’re here. There’s Jerry, sitting at the judges box. For some he might be new, and others he might be familiar or semi-familiar. He scrutinizes you, and then motions to the jury box. There’s a plaque that’s sitting on the outside that says “Council”, but there’s no one sitting there. Everything looks clean and maintained, but there’s no one in the courtroom but you and Jerry.
Weird.]
You are charged with bringing monsters into Aldrip. In order to repent and further your rehabilitation, you have been tasked to show remorse for your crime by taking a step back and letting others take the lead. You must show that you are willing to let go of control of serious situations. If there is no action taken, there will be consequences.
[Jerry blinks down at you, fingers threading together as he looks down from the judges’ box.]
How do you plead?
[ooc: you have until May 9th to submit your Sentencing HERE Even if your character doesn’t proceed with the Sentencing, you must comment on the NPC inbox for your penalty.
Also, there are effects for ignoring this Sentencing. The longer that Fauna takes to complete her sentencing, the more she starts to question herself, and starts doubting her abilities. She may become more fearful, and even paranoid. If you have any questions about Sentencing, please let us know!
Jerry is interactive at this point, but we wanted to make sure you got your information in hand if you'd like to start plotting for your Sentencing!]
[Fauna growls as soon as she understands what's going on... then pauses, looking at the room, and herself, in surprise. Still... Time to focus.]
Haa? Let go? Hell no. If I have the power to help, I'm going to do my best to help, no matter what. If I "let go"... If I just sit back and watch people suffer, I'd be no better than you. If you think you can judge me for this, then what the hell were you doing to help?
[She's standing up straight, glaring at Jerry with a red tint to her eyes.]
[Fauna looks around... and just vaults over the defendant's seat, out into the center of the courtroom.
And then, turning and facing Jerry... She sits down on the floor, and pats the ground next to her.]
Come on down here. Forget the rest of this crap for now. For now, let's just talk, okay? I want to know more about this place, and what you're doing... and you.
In the first place, I don't even know if you're an enemy. It seems like you're working for the bad guys here... but I don't know if you're doing that willingly, or not. I mean, you know by now, I used to work for the bad guys, too, right?
[it's probably very interesting to see a strange look of confusion on Jerry's expression. it's nothing super obvious, but it's still a bit of confusion for someone who's usually expressionless.]
I would not call my superior a "bad guy". They have done no harm to the Chosen.
[they're not bad in the traditional sense, but there are some Chosen riled up by all of this.]
Right. And I'm not saying I don't deserve it, but...
[She sighs.]
Cops are the worst, you know? They can arrest people just by making up any reason they want. They can do whatever they want because they have 'power'. People steal something to eat because they're going to starve otherwise, and a cop arrests them. Someone sleeps out on the ground because they don't have a home, and they get arrested.
It's not an arrest in a conventional way. It's rehabilitation. Like...
[hmmm... he almost looks as though he's trying to think for a moment. his eyes seemingly unfocus a little.]
Some worlds have rehabilitation centers for injuries and illnesses. We consider it more like that. Except the "injuries" in this case are the ways that you all think and behave.
If that's it, then you're not doing a good job of it. The crime I got accused of when I got brought here is something I already know was wrong. I'm not doing it anymore.
[it's hard for her to think, too, jerry, she gets it]
I'm trying to help others. I have to kill the Goddess so none of this can happen again. But...
... I don't know. How could anyone know? When you're starving on the streets, you'll do anything. Should I have just laid down and died for no reason? Is that what you think justice is?
SENTENCING

No one is asking for you to sit back and let things happen. We are simply asking you to let others take charge.

[She pauses, though, letting Jerry's words sink in...]
... "We"?
no subject
[damn, Jerry.]
My superior and I.
no subject
You have a superior?
no subject
[do you wanna speak to his manager, Fauna-]
no subject
Then why am I wasting time with a minion? In the first place, if you're just a follower, do you even have any power?
no subject
[which is sentencing you fuckers!!]
I speak on behalf of my superior, for most things. They aren't able to be reached at the present time.
no subject
[Folds her arms. This is suddenly a lot messier than she expected.]

It is... difficult, for now. It's why the Chosen have only seen me in limited moments for the past few months.

Jerry moves forward, hands behind his back. but he doesn't sit. that's just too casual for him, right now.]
The first two questions have been asked before, but why is it that you wish to know more about me?
no subject
[She seems caught off-guard.]

I know of your history.

[She looks at Jerry, equally confused.]
What do you call kidnapping people? Or these... 'sentencing' things? It's not like this is justice.
no subject
[he sounds as if he's said that may be like, a million times by now. which he has.]
Arrests are made in various worlds, are they not? It's something similar to what happens here.

[She sighs.]

There's a reason no one trusts the pigs.

Then what are you doing here? What are we doing here? If it's not an arrest?

I am not a person in a traditional sense, so I don't have those sorts of questions for myself.

I do not have a soul. I do only what I'm programmed to. This concept that I am a "person" isn't true.

[She's ready to start kicking someone's ass for Jerry... even if she still doesn't like him.]
